IWD aims to highlight women’s achievements around the world. It also creates awareness among we women to take a stand and fight against gender discrimination.

It all started way back in 1908 when 15,000 women initiated a march through New York City, USA, to demand good pay, shorter working hours and voting rights. Then, creation of a ‘Women’s Day’ spread slowly but surely around the world.

Why?

Because women’s lives matter too!

Way back in the seventies, well, I didn’t exactly burn my bra or protest at Greenham Common. But as a young woman only too painfully aware of how women can be used and abused by the patriarchy and some men, I created a one woman campaign for female liberation within my own circles of influence.

A read of ‘The Woman’s Room’ by Marilyn French, a cult book of the times, will give you an idea of what women had been up against.

The 70s were deliciously heady days with the emergence of the Female Liberation Movement and ‘Spare Rib.’ This then iconic magazine challenged the stereotyping and exploitation of women, while supporting collective, realistic solutions to the hurdles women faced.

And, yes, we’ve come a long way since those days… And also we’ve not! For example, did you know it was as long ago as 1970 that the first UK Equal Pay Act was passed? Yet in 2022 we women still don’t have parity of pay in many organisations and businesses.

OK OK OK…

Political campaigning hat now swiftly taken off!

But maybe you can see why I am so passionate about showing women how to stand even more in your power, take even more control of your life and shape it even more in the way you desire.

All doable with the help of your Wild Soul and inner guidance system!

Are you with me or not this International Women’s Day?

Love and wild warm wishes…
