It feels as though I’ve been catapulted into April. I’m finding it hard to believe we’re in Ramadan already with Easter and Passover fast approaching! Do these seasonal markers seem to have come far too quickly for you this year too, or is it just me?
So our lives whizz by until, suddenly, you look back thinking, ‘Where did it all go?’
I’m not exactly there yet but, as you get older, you become aware there’s less life in front of you than there is behind you.
For example, being 75 this month, I recently invited my kids and grandkids to a celebratory lunch out in a restaurant. My rationale (as if I needed one to celebrate!) is who knows if I’ll get to 80.
I’m definitely at a time of life to start celebrating the half-decades as well as the big zeros!
Anyhow, my 13-year-old granddaughter’s reaction heartened me no end. When I said I couldn’t possibly know if I’ll make 80, she roared at me voce forte, ‘YOU WILL!’ So, I better had, hadn’t I?
TBH I have a sense there’s loads of life left in this beautifully maturing old dog. Like a fine wine, I’m ripening in my third age more fully than I did in my first or even my second age.
While the body can be a source of amusement… just watch out for wrinkly knees!… my spirit is so much stronger. As for my Wild Soul, I feel like s/he/it has only just got out of kindergarten.
A superlicious SHAZAM!
What’s important is living your heart’s desires.
When I look back, nothing of that kind happened, apart from the birth of my two gorgeous children, until my late 30s but in a tentative don’t-ask-for-too-much way. It wasn’t until my mid-to-late 40s that I really got going to give myself the freedom, space, and wildness to really fulfil my mission here on earth including my heart’s desires.
No, not what my logical mind thought was my heart’s desires which, ultimately, turn out to be a series of SHOULDS picked up from other people, your culture’s values, and a materialistic world. I’m talking about my TRUE heart’s desires!
When it’s your time to look back I wish for you to see shining, like a string of gorgeous beads thread on gold gossamer, all of your heart’s desires deliciously fulfilled too.
And to know that there’s even more to come!
Love and wild warm wishes…

You are perfect imperfection
A divine light that yearns to shine.
So shine, woman, shine!
PS… I know! I bet, with me talking about religious events, you expected something on ‘redemption’ or, at the very least a ‘spring has sprung’ theme. NO! What better time than now, when new life’s beginning to stir majestically in my garden, to talk about enriching yours with your TRUE heart’s desire? Click here for more right now…
