The ho-ho-ho has already started as we hurtle towards December and then another freakin’ year will be over. Post-lockdown time has gone by in a flash…

And?

I’m sitting with discomfort as I type this.

So what’s your point, Sharon?

I guess it’s about being more mindful because ‘time’ didn’t do it all by itself. I’m the one who let time go by in a flash. It’s me who put myself back into that busy-busy-doing-doing that leaves little time for ‘being.’

Do you know that one too?

I feel the edge of irritation with myself for slipping back into an old habit which, at the time, helped me not to feel extreme pain in shit situations and kept me going… It helped me to survive.

As I remember, my irritation fades and warmth begins to fill me for my ‘keep busy keep yourself together’ self that saw me through the loss of the love of my life way way back. And helped me navigate life when I was faced with other painful situations.

Thank you busy-busy-keep-going for all that you’ve done. I thought you and I had an agreement to share time with ‘chill-baby-chill’ so I got more do-be-do-be-do in my life…

Hey ho!

And… Just being mindful now that I’ve remembered will start to make a difference. In fact, when I’ve finished typing this, a cup of chai will be made and feet will be up as I take a delicious break in the ‘things to do today’ list. I’ll gaze out on the garden and enjoy nothing-to-do-and-nowhere-to-go for… Well, for as long as I need to right now!

Deeelicious!

In your busy-busy life when did you last take time out just to be?

Love and wild, warm wishes…
