‘Get angry!’ she said.
Interesting because how many women really let themselves get angry? We fume quietly. We cry instead. Some of us get sarcastic… Not the best as it’s a way of poking at somebody where you can use that well-worn non-excuse, ‘I was only joking!’
No you weren’t…
Some of us fear getting angry.
Maybe you learned as a child being angry only brought more wrath upon your head.
Maybe you lived with the trauma of an angry parent or two.
Maybe you learned to fear your anger in case you too were destructive with it.
And maybe you were taught, explicitly or implicitly, that it’s not ‘lady-like’ to be angry.
W T F!
Anger is part of our birth right. It’s part of our beautiful juicy passion to live life out loud, to en-joy and to defend ourselves if need be.
Not surprising then that many girls were and are guided away from it.
Passion! Female messy passion! Whatever next?
HA!
What I know is that anger always holds our truth…. Goddess forbid we ever speak our truth!
Women’s voices, let alone our angry ones, have been muffled and ignored for eons.
They’re far too dangerous for the patriarchy; the system that favours males over females. Can’t have those uppity women spoiling our advantaged way of doing things around here, old chap.
ENOUGH!
You can learn to embrace your anger, to manage and express it powerfully without harm to yourself or any other being. You can even learn how to fuel your everyday life with the vitality of your passion.
Imagine walking down the road feeling sexy… Yes you can! Imagine feeling enthused by seeing sunlight reflected back from a car bonnet. Imagine doing house work (which I hate!) as you wiggle to your favourite upbeat music.
Yum!
Anyhow…
Why did my awesome coach tell me to get angry?
SO I SPEAK AND WRITE MY OWN FREAKIN’ TRUTH!
No more mealy-mouthed denial of who I am, what I stand for and what I stand against. And if you don’t think I’ve been mealy-mouthed to date, watch out. There’s a whole pile more of ME coming down the line…
Love and wild warm wishes…

Unleash more of awesome you!
