I wrote this social media post at the weekend and wanted to share it with you.
Why?
Because I know I’m not alone.
Many, many, many women have the same going on in different measures. So, while my history will likely be different from yours, you might well resonate with what I’ve written about the outcome of it.
If you don’t, I hope it will give you an increased understanding of a woman you know who would…
‘I’m struggling with this every freakin’ day right now…
It’s not as if I don’t know what’s behind it…
The sexually abused little girl who was told to keep the secret… or else!
The sexually, mentally and emotionally abused little girl who had nightmares about W T F the terrible warning ‘or else’ could mean.
The bright, talented girl who would say, write and create ‘unexpected’ things! I eventually learned not to put my head above the parapet ‘What an actress you are!’ ‘Ooo-er look at you!’
Ridiculed and humiliated, I unconsciously hid her creativity in fear of its destruction.
The serious deep girl with a Wild Soul endangered by her mother’s jealousy, the fallout of World War III between her parents and the manipulations of a toxic grandmother.
So I hid her light too.
I’ve been chipping away at these and other fears about being visible for a long while with some success…
BUT…
Now at 75 as I challenge myself to write my legacy book, initiate the sacred and powerful spiritual growth group and training for women AND be seen widely as the magnificent, powerful and highly effective Psychotherapist Coach that I am…
THESE AND ALL MY OTHER VISIBILITY FEARS HAVE COALESCED!
My 40 years of professional expertise, knowledge and wisdom tell me those fears are in their death throes… a final cumulative assault to keep me silent and invisible…
My Wild Soul and I and the sacred work I offer are too precious to be silenced any more!
This post is my public and sacred declaration that, despite the grinding dread in the pit of my stomach and nausea rising in my throat, I WILL NOT FREAKIN’ SUCCUMB ANY MORE!
I invoke the awesome and healing energy of love…
And I forgive myself for feeling fear – I CHOOSE LOVE INSTEAD!
SO IT IS, so it is, and so it is!’
