There’s something many midlife women recognise in the current Labour leadership story… The exhaustion of holding everything together while quietly losing yourself in the process.
We’re watching leaders try to appear steady, competent and resilient under impossible pressure, while criticism comes from every direction.
Sound familiar?
So many women in midlife have spent decades being the dependable one… at work, in relationships, in families… absorbing tension, adapting constantly, smoothing conflict, carrying emotional labour no one else even notices.
Until one day the body says no freakin’ more!
I am well and truly done.
What’s unfolding politically also mirrors a deeper collective truth. People are hungry for presence, not performance, and for humanity rather than assurances about effectiveness.
The midlife journey shakes us up, demanding the same. Who am I underneath the performance I was trained to give?
And, I’m glad to report, midlife’s not about a slippery road to senility. Far from it!
It’s about reclaiming your voice, your values and your nervous system from years of over-functioning.
Too much, woman.
It’s all been too much!
Love and wild warm wishes…

For women who’ve reached, “There has to be more to life than this!”
