Have you noticed we English people talk about the weather as a common experience which connects us in commiseration (usually) and camaraderie… You probably do the same in whatever country you live.

Last year we had a burning hot summer. This one’s more of a damp squib and like the typical English summers we know and definitely don’t love… We need our summer sun!

Did you know that, unlike external weather, your internal weather can be exactly whatever you desire because…

Our brains are unable to distinguish between what’s real, what’s a memory or what’s a fantasy.

So, if you’d prefer to be sunbathing on a sunny beach or walking through a lush summer meadow or climbing the Alps, you can!

You can either read the following short guided journey or listen to it here…

Sit with your back straight and your feet on the floor. Close your eyes and relax, releasing any tension and then take a few deep breaths… Slowly, slowly, inhale and exhale, inhale and exhale, inhale and exhale.

Imagine it’s a warm sunny day with a cool breeze so the temperature’s perfect for you. Imagine, right now, you’re in a beautiful, safe and natural place you love or in one you imagine.

Take time to explore it with all of your senses as you enjoy the warmth of the sun embracing your skin… and notice how you feel.

Enjoy it in the next 30 seconds of silence…

Now, take a last look around knowing you can return any time you want. Allow your imagining to fade and begin to turn your attention outward again. You might want to stretch or twizzle your fingers and toes.

Then, very slowly, open your eyes and come back into the room…

And notice how you feel…

Repeat any time you’d love a physical, emotional and spiritual boost from the healing warm rays of the sun whatever the weather’s like outside!

Love and wild warm wishes…
