I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and then realised I’d disassociated, gone a bit numb. A defence against times in my life when a man forced himself on #metoo.
16 at an office party, forcibly pressed up against a filing cabinet, being groped by a much older man with his slobbering mouth on my face. Somehow I managed to hit him so hard on the side of his head that he recoiled in shock.
And, as he slid away, ‘Silly girl!’ was snarled at me.
In my early 50s in the back of a cab with a man I’d known for years who suddenly lunged at me and pulled me close, holding my head and fighting to kiss me. I easily remember his alcohol-fumed breath and his excruciating shock as I slammed a fist into his balls.
The divine feminine had taught me well by then!
Punch them in the balls, woman. Punch them in the balls in whatever way you can!
