The ‘collective unconscious’ is not the name of a boy or girl band although it could well be!
Coined by Carl Jung, a major daddy of spiritual psychology, it says that you and I are affected not just by what goes on in our own unconscious but in the combined unconscious of all humankind.
Eeek!
However, that fits neatly into quantum physics too in its example that a butterfly flapping its wings in Australia could cause a hurricane on the other side of the world.
Yes… It does my brain in too!
Anyhow, if you imagine yourself as a radio receiver you’ll be able to tune into loads of frequencies, including the collective one. And you’ll pick up all kinds of information whether you want to or not.
For example, the night before 9/11 I had a shockingly severe headache which is very unusual for me. I don’t do headaches! But I wasn’t alone. People from different countries claimed unusual physical and/or sensory symptoms prior to the attack.
Coincidence or synchronicity?
Who knows, but I’d lay money on the latter.
Now, some of us are more attuned to picking up energy from the collective unconscious than others.
So, if that’s you, and you’ve been feeling, let’s say, fear, anxiety, despair, helplessness, sadness, terror or a sense of something disturbing you can’t shake, please check out whether those feelings are totally yours.
YES… I know hearing the news might trigger those feelings in you.
Still, check.
Are they 100% yours or does a percentage belong to another person you know AND/OR to persons unknown, i.e., through the collective unconscious?
OK, Sharon, so what if they’re not all mine? What’s the big deal?
The big deal is that as well as receiving energy from the collective unconscious, you can also put energy into it. (Search for ‘research that indicates prayer has a positive impact’ if you’re curious to know more.)
The BIG DEAL is that you and I can awesomely add to the collective pool of peaceful, loving and compassionate energy that’s so freakin’ needed now!
Close your eyes, breathe, and then either call on the healing energy of love or remember a time when you felt steeped in love. Feel it deeply and then, when you recognise the moment, consciously project it out into the world.
Repeat… repeat… repeat…
For the healing energy of love always, but always, trumps hatred and fear.
So, when there’s nothing else you can do, keep doing that, woman…
Keep doing that!
Love and wild warm wishes…

Revitalise yourself and your life so you can
be at the top of your game and deliciously alive.
PS… The Dalai Lama once said it would be Western women who resolve the world’s problems. If you didn’t catch it, make sure to read last week’s post on the divine feminine for how we can do just that!
