It’s the week before Christmas, and I suppose I should be sending you a cheerful ho-ho-ho kind of message.

Notice the word ‘should.’

The season’s “shoulds” and the whispers of Christmas FOMO have obviously got hold of me!

Yet what’s truly on my heart right now is that we need less glitz, glamour, and enforced joy in the world and shedloads more kindness.

As I type those words, tears fill my eyes, and my body softens.

For kindness is nothing less than Love made visible.

And Love?

Love is the very glue that holds the universe together!

Yet it seems it’s in short supply currently, which, in itself, is madness.

For when we feel love for others and receive love from others, a whole bunch of hormones and chemical messengers flood our bodies, gifting us with the most delicious feelings of joy and well-being.

Who wouldn’t wish for more of that?

Years ago, when a relationship broke up, I spoke with a Buddhist monk. He was from Yorkshire, smoked, and swore like a navvy, but he was a Buddhist monk nonetheless!

Anyhow…

I said, “I imagine the intense pain of loss I feel is the measure of how much I loved him.”

“Oh no,” he said. “The reason you feel so much pain is because you think love resides only in that person, but, in fact, it’s all around you!”

So, this year, while I do, of course, wish you a blessed festive season and a bright new year, my deepest wish for you is this…

May you feel Love, magnificent woman… freely given and gratefully received… today, tomorrow, and always.

Love and wild warm wishes…
