It’s a fact of current professional life that a social media presence is necessary if only to provide an online ‘business card’. But the algorithms don’t take kindly to profiles without activity.

So, active you have to be!

Notice the ‘have to’?

Not one of my favourite phrases.

And reality is…

When I stopped social media-ing and a network group or two as I needed the time to concentrate on my talk, I realised…

I HAVE HAD IT!

I’ve had it with all the hype, hyperbole and ra-ra-ra on social media and with some networking groups where the energy is high all the time and everything is FAB-U-LOUS… always!

Of course, FAB-U-LOUS happens from time to time but, hey, where’s the freakin’ reality when it’s constant?

So, I’m taking time out to re-think my social media and which networking groups I 100% enjoy, ones where there’s love in the giving and receiving, and where I feel totally nourished.

There will be tears!

If you follow me on Facebook, you will have seen I was speaking at the Simply Speak and Shine event at the Kindred, Hammersmith, last Thursday.

Yes, I know I didn’t make a song and dance about it… All part of the heads down.

AND…

You’ll see the professional photos as soon as I get them.

And no, I didn’t take selfies because I was totally engaged with the event and the awesome women with whom I was connecting.

Yes, I know…

The lack of selfies was also part of my current antipathy towards social media and the ra-ra-ra!

However…

There are more great events coming from the Speak and Shine people. So, if you’d love to be inspired in the audience and/or speak at an event yourself, explore here for what goes on.

I know it isn’t always easy to close a door, especially if it’s been a long-time habit. But take courage, woman… There are new, exciting and growthful portals waiting for you.

And if I can do it, so can you!

Love and wild warm wishes,
