About a year after my son was born, a human-caused tragedy occurred in Africa.

“The famine in Biafra occurred during the Nigerian Civil War, also known as the Biafran War, which lasted from July 6, 1967, to January 15, 1970.

The famine peaked between 1968 and 1970… and was a result of:

  • A Nigerian government blockade that cut off food and medical supplies to the secessionist region of Biafra.
  • Massive displacement of civilians due to the war.
  • A deliberate policy to starve Biafra into submission.

It is estimated that over one million people, mostly children, died from starvation and related diseases. The images of starving Biafran children became one of the first major global humanitarian media campaigns and sparked international outcry and aid efforts.”*

I sobbed my heart out, as a new mother, for all those mothers, all those babies, all those children. And in 2025, I’m doing it all over again.

I don’t give a shit about the history, the politics, the religions, the rights, or wrongs… I do give a shit about the distorted toxic masculinity ON ALL SIDES, the willy waving that kills without a second thought, including the slow, painful death of innocents through starvation.

At such times, I raise my fist to the heavens and ROAR at the gods of war and humankind for their inhumanity!

What about you?
