I watched King Charles address the USA Congress last week, and it gave me much to reflect on.
Not because he’s a king, but because of how he stood there, assured, and rooted.
No performance of power, tossing his weight around. He was simply powerful with decades of preparation distilled into his presence.
He said uncomfortable things, about NATO, about nature, about checks on executive power, and he said them gently, with humour and without flinching.
That kind of diplomacy is elderhood in action!
The kind of elderhood we can earn, each one of us…
The capacity to speak truth into a room that doesn’t particularly want to hear it… and don’t we women know some of those rooms… and have them stand and applaud anyway. Not because you softened it, but because you seasoned it with timing and wit.
He didn’t arrive at Congress performing relevance. He arrived as relevance, carrying 77 years of becoming!
And so can you…
When you’ve done the inner work most people avoid entirely.
Then, you know how to hold tension without collapsing it. How to be political without being shrill. And how to disturb the comfortable for the greater and highest good.
That’s the sovereign woman… That’s the Wild Elder.
The world needs her more than ever right now. So…
Whatever wisdom you carry, trust it enough to speak.
Trust yourself enough to speak, woman!
Love and wild warm wishes…

For women who’ve reached, “There has to be more to life than this!”
